⏳ Day Counter Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 10, 2026
Privacy by design: Day Counter is an event countdown & day-counter app for iPhone. Everything you enter stays on your device — no account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no Day Counter server. We never see, collect or sell your data.
1. Information Stored on Your Device
Day Counter stores the following locally, in Apple's encrypted SwiftData database — only because the app can't work without it:
- Countdown entries: event name, date, icon, color theme, repeat rule and count direction (days until / days since) — exactly what you type in
- Preferences: display currency, reminder settings, onboarding state
- Pro status: a StoreKit 2 entitlement flag for Countdown Pro — Apple processes the purchase; we never receive your name, address or payment details
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- No personal identity data (name, e-mail, phone number)
- No location data
- No advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics SDKs
- No server-side accounts — we don't operate a backend at all
3. How Your Data Is Used
Solely on your device, to:
- Show day counts and your upcoming events
- Schedule local event reminders (Pro)
- Render Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets through the app's private App Group container
- Format dates in your language and region
4. Storage, Sync & Security
- Local storage: SwiftData inside the iOS App Sandbox
- Widgets: a small summary (next event, days left) is shared with the widget via Apple's App Group container — still on your device
- iCloud sync (optional, future update): if you enable it, data syncs through your private iCloud container with Apple's encryption; we have no access and you can turn it off anytime
- Deletion: deleting an entry removes it immediately; uninstalling the app removes everything
5. Notifications
Event reminders are local notifications scheduled entirely on your device. There is no push server and nothing is ever transmitted.
6. Purchases & Third Parties
Countdown Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use no third-party SDKs. Please see Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles purchase data.
7. Your Control
- Edit or delete any entry at any time
- Uninstall the app to erase all local data
- Manage or cancel Countdown Pro in your App Store settings
8. Children's Privacy
Day Counter is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, the updated policy will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance.
