🌙 Slooma Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 25, 2026
Privacy by design: Slooma is a sleep tracker built for iPhone and Apple Watch. Your sleep data is stored on your device — we don't run analytics, we don't show ads, and we never sell your information.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Sleep & health data
Slooma stores the following information locally on your device:
- Sleep sessions: bedtime, wake time, estimated stages (awake, light, deep, REM), sleep score and notes you write
- Apple Health data: with your permission, we read sleep, heart rate and respiratory rate samples, and write the sleep sessions Slooma records back to the Health app
- Motion data: CoreMotion accelerometer readings, processed on-device to estimate sleep stages when you don't wear a watch
- Alarms and reminders: the times you've scheduled and the sounds you've chosen
1.2 Microphone (optional)
If you enable snore and sleep-talk detection, Slooma listens for sound levels using the device microphone. By default we only store summary statistics (loudness over time). Audio clips are kept only when you explicitly turn on recording, are stored locally, and you can delete them at any time.
1.3 Subscription information
Slooma is a paid app with auto-renewable subscriptions managed by Apple. We receive a StoreKit 2 transaction ID and an entitlement status — we never see your name, billing address, or payment card.
1.4 Device information
- Device model and iOS / watchOS version (for compatibility)
- App version (for diagnostics)
- Language and region (for localization)
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely for the following purposes:
- Sleep tracking: record sessions, estimate stages and compute sleep scores
- Smart alarms: wake you during a lighter stage inside the window you set
- Insights: show charts, trends and weekly summaries
- Sounds and Live Activities: play sleep sounds and surface session status on the Lock Screen
- Subscriptions: unlock Pro features for paying customers
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Local storage
All your sleep data is stored locally using:
- SwiftData: Apple's encrypted local database
- iOS Keychain: sensitive settings stored in the encrypted keychain
- App Sandbox: data isolated from other apps and external access
3.2 iCloud sync (optional)
If you enable iCloud sync in the Slooma settings:
- Data is synced across your Apple devices through your private iCloud container
- Apple's end-to-end encryption protects your information
- We never have access to your iCloud data
- You can disable sync at any time in Settings
3.3 Apple Watch
Sleep sessions tracked on Apple Watch are synced to your iPhone over the Apple-managed Watch Connectivity channel. We don't transmit watch data to any external server.
3.4 Security measures
- No personal data is transmitted to a Slooma server (we don't run one)
- All Apple-managed data transfer uses TLS encryption
- Biometric authentication support (Face ID / Touch ID) when available
- Regular security reviews with each release
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your data: Slooma never sells, rents, or shares your personal health information with third parties for commercial purposes.
4.1 Apple service integration
Slooma integrates with Apple services under Apple's privacy policy:
- Apple Health: shared only with your explicit permission
- Apple Watch: data syncs securely between your devices
- iCloud: optional backup with Apple's encryption
- Live Activities & Widgets: rendered on-device by iOS
4.2 Third-party SDKs
Slooma does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs. There is no Firebase, no AdMob, no Mixpanel, no Sentry, no Crashlytics. Diagnostics are limited to the optional on-device reports Apple offers in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
- Subscriptions are sold through the App Store and managed by Apple
- Auto-renewing subscriptions can be cancelled in your Apple ID account settings
- Slooma never receives or stores your payment card details
- Pricing, renewal terms and refund policy are governed by the App Store
